Tuesday 29 Jan 2019[Journal Club] Selecting Candidate Young Stellar Objects for WEAVE

Andy Wilson - University of Exeter

4th Floor Interaction Area 11:15-11:45

WEAVE is a new multi-object spectrograph being built for the 4.2m William Herschel Telescope. It will obtain up to 1000 spectra at a time, enabling it to perform a large scale spectroscopic survey of a variety of object classes. My contribution is to select candidate Young Stellar Objects as part of the Stellar, Circumstellar and Interstellar Physics Team. In this presentation I will review the YSO detection techniques I have been researching and intend to employ in the WEAVE target selection.
