Thursday 17 Jan 2019: Statistical Science- Prof Obi Ukoumunne- Cluster randomised trials
Prof Obi Ukoumunne - University of Exeter
H101 14:30-15:30
Obi Ukoumunne is a Medical Statistician in the University of Exeter College of Medicine and Health and based in the Health Statistics Group at St Luke’s campus. He provides statistical support for the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care (CLAHRC) for the South West Peninsula.
His main area of expertise is the design and analysis of cluster randomised controlled trials where entire clusters of individuals (e.g., general practices, schools), rather than the individuals themselves, are allocated to intervention groups. Obi will talk about the unique practical challenges of trials that allocate clusters and describe some school-based cluster randomised trials that he is currently working on.
