Monday 09 Apr 2018: Modelling Exoplanet Atmospheres with Socrates Correlated-k Radiative Transfer: Climates, Observations, and Flexibility
Mark Hammond - University of Oxford
H101 14:30-15:30
Modelling exoplanet climates presents a range of challenges due to their varied physical compositions and radiative properties. I will present results from our model Exo-FMS, focusing on its interface with the radiative transfer code Socrates, and discuss the climates of lava planets and observations of these climates. I will also discuss how we are integrating Socrates and other modules to create a flexible and user-friendly GCM for idealised modelling of a range of different terrestrial exoplanets.
