Thursday 16 Nov 2017Some new statistical properties of piecewise linear Fibonacci maps

Dalia Terhesiu - University of Exeter

H103 14:30-16:30

In this talk, I will first recall  the model of piecewise linear Fibonacci maps, stressing on the fact that these are essentially null recurrent Markov shifts lacking regular variation. In the first part, I will discuss some new results on the asymptotic behaviour of the pressure function; these results are joint work with Henk Bruin and Mike Todd.

In the second part of the talk, I will discuss a result on  limit laws for these maps, somewhat similar to  Darling Kac laws; this result is joint work with Peter Kevei.
