Thursday 06 Nov 2014Statistical Science Seminar: Big, complex and linked environmental data - meeting the statistical challenges

Professor Marian Scott - University of Glasgow

H101 15:00-16:00

In this presentation, I will explore what some of the statistical challenges are in the modern world of earth observation. I will use examples from water and air quality and space weather to illustrate the 'analytics' process from design and sampling through to visualisation and communication. I will also consider what this might mean for how we manage and regulate our environment.
