Monday 10 Jun 2013: Wave energy resource characterisation for island communities: case studies from the Channel region.
Vanesa Magar - University of Plymouth
Laver LT3 15:00-16:00
Island communities that depend on fuel provision from the main land, are most vulnerable to fuel scarcity and damage to infrastructure. However, given that they are surrounded by the sea, they would benefit from the exploitation of their marine energy resources, hence becoming energetically sustainable and self-sufficient. In this talk we will present some preliminary wave energy resource assessments for two areas within the Channel region: Guernsey Island, and the French region of Finistere.
