Wednesday 21 May 2014: Under What Conditions are Stars Rapidly Rotating?
Prof Robert Deupree - St Mary's University, Canada
Physics, 4th floor 14:00-15:00
The words "rapid rotation" in stars usually connote "when do I have to worry about rotation?" In this talk I will consider the various situations in which rotation might be considered rapid and how we deal with these situations in modelling rotating stars. This includes 2D models of rotating stars, the spectral energy distributions of rotating stars, and various aspects of rotating star asteroseismology.
