Galaxy Zoo (www.galaxyzoo.org) is well known to many as one of the most successful online citizen science projects ever undertaken. Since its inception in 2007, Galaxy Zoo has shown almost 1 million images of galaxies from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, and hundreds of thousands of Hubble Space Telescope images to members the public and asked for their help to categorize and describe the shapes and types of the galaxies they see. The success of Galaxy Zoo inspired the creation of The Zooniverse - a platform for crowdsourcing of research projects. What's more, over 40 peer reviewed publications have resulted directly from the Galaxy Zoo classifications, demonstrating their unique contributions to our understanding of how the galaxies in our universe formed and evolve over cosmic time. I'll review some of the science results from the Galaxy Zoo classifications, with a focus on my own work on red and/or barred spirals.
