Monday 26 Nov 2012: Inspiring Science - From the Big Bang to Extrasolar Planets
Professor Gilles Chabrier -
Harrison 004 17:30-19:00
Join Professor Gilles Chabrier as he examines our understanding of the formation of structures in the universe, from the universe itself to stars and planets, and explores the possibility that some of the extrasolar planets discovered today may harbour a form of life. Professor Chabrier received his PhD in Theoretical Physics in Paris and has been a Professor at the University of Exeter since 2010. He has recently been awarded the “Grand Prix Jean Ricard” by the French Physical Society and the “Eddington Medal” in astrophysics by the Royal Astronomical Society.
