Electronic Engineering Design Studies B

This module involves the in-depth study of the design process through the example of the CD/DVD optical recording system, a familiar and well-established consumer electronic product that since its introduction has gone through three format generations driven by advances in electro-optical technology. In addition the module introduces students to important concepts not encountered elsewhere in their program including geometric and Gaussian beam optics together with an appreciation of the behavior key electro-optical devices such as laser diodes.

Pre-requisite modules: ECM2105 , ECM2111 , ECM2115 , ECM2117

Please note that all modules are subject to change, please get in touch if you have any questions about this module.
