Our mining engineering programmes are taught at the internationally established Camborne School of Mines, a combined mining school and geoscience department.

Based at the University’s £100 million Penryn Campus in Cornwall, Camborne School of Mines has an international reputation for research and teaching related to the understanding and management of the Earth's natural processes, resources and the environment.

During your studies you can enjoy access to  specialist analytical and research facilities, including geochemical and mineralogical labs, surveying equipment, GIS software, a materials engineering and physical separation lab.

You’ll be taught by experts who are active in internationally-recognised scientific research in a range of topics. This means you get to discuss the very latest ideas, research discoveries and new technologies, becoming actively involved in a research project yourself.

You’ll also benefit from our strong links with industry and excellent relationships with companies from across the globe, such as Rio Tinto, BHP Billiton, First Quantum, Glencore and many more.

To boost your employability and practical skills, we offer an extensive range of fieldwork opportunities where you can visit a variety of mining sites throughout your studies.
