Michael joined the university as an Associate Research Fellow on the EuroClim project in April 2015. The project aims to understand the fundamental drivers of European climate in order to improve seasonal forecasting on time scales of weeks to months.
Michael's research is primarily concentrated on stratosphere-troposphere interactions. His PhD work focused on the connection between Sudden Stratospheric Warming events and tropospheric blocking events through the examination of reanalysis data.
