Overview

I am a third year PhD student in mathematics under the supervision of Professor Nigel Byott and Professor Mohamed Saidi.

I will be spending my PhD investigating certain algebraic objects known as Hopf-Galois structures, which in a sense generalise the idea of the Galois group of a field extension. The goal will be to study the behaviour of Hopf-Galois structures on separable (but not necessarily normal) field extensions of squarefree degree, which a 1987 paper by Greither and Pareigis makes much more accessible by translating the problem into that of one in group theory.

I have (recreational) interests in a number of areas within both algebra and number theory and always enjoy learning new things!

I have a personal website now!
