My current research project investigates the clustering of European windstorms (extra-tropical cyclones). After hurricanes, windstorms are the second largest cause of insured losses globally. The specific aims of the project include the quantification though statistical modelling of windstorm clustering and multi-peril dependency. Clustering here refers to association between hazard events whereas multi-peril dependency refers to association between different types of hazard e.g. windstorms and floods.
