Dr. Maria Rosaria Marsico is presently a Senior Lecturer at the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences of the University of Exeter, UK. She was awarded a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering in 2008 at the University of Naples Federico II and she was Research Assistant at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at University of Bristol, UK woking on the instabiliy of cables in cable-stay bridges,
She conducts research in Earthquake Engineering, Structural Dynamics, Structural Health Monitoring, Control Systems and Energy Dissipation.
She she was Visiting Researcher at the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of California Berkeley in 2008-09 and she optimised an innovative method to design buckling and roll-out displacement for multilayer elastomeric bearings used for seismic protection.
Dr. Marsico has been member of ReLUIS, University Network of Seismic Engineering Laboratories supported by the Department of Civil Protection in Italy. She is reviewer for highly ranked journals and she published several articles in reputed international journals.
