Overview

Elizabeth joined the Centre for Water Systems in 2017 as part of the  STREAM Industrial Doctorate Centre, where she works under the supervision of Professor David Butler and Professor Raziyeh Farmani, and is sponsored by Northumbrian Water. She graduated with a BSc in Geography and Environmental Management and an MSc in Disaster Management and Sustainable Development both from Northumbria University. Elizabeth spent time working within the UK water sector before moving on to work as part of the Europe and Central Asia Climate and Environment team, for the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations, where she was based in Tirana, Albania. 

Her work is concerned with the operationalisation of resilience within the UK water sector, and is particularly interested in how exisiting resilience theory can be translated into tangible actions at the operational level.
