I completed my MPhys degree in Physics at the University of Exeter in 2014, during which I was awarded the Jubilee and Millhayes scholarship for academic excellence. My masters project investigated phononic crystals for surface acoustic waves in the MHz range.

In September 2014 I started my PhD as part of the XM2 Centre for Doctoral Training in Metamaterials. My PhD project aims to develop phononic crystal metamaterial fabrication methods for piezoelectric surface acoustic wave devices and will explore how this approach could be used to create acoustic waveguides, which in turn can be used to transport charge when graphene is integrated on to the device.
