CWS Academics visit Beijing and Taipei

The group participated in a GII project workshop at the Department of Hydraulic Engineering, Tsinghua University, Beijing, which was attended by over 30 delegates from 10 insitutions, including representatives from the British Council.

Professor Butler gave a lecture at the Tsinghua University School of Environment whilst Professor Savic and Drs Fu and Chen held project discussions with Professors of the Department of Hydraulic Engineering. Further discussions were held with academics of the Department of Civil Engineering regarding the joint, recently submitted proposal to Innovate UK's China-UK research and innovation bridges completetion.

In Taipei, the delegation particiapted in a full-day workshop at the Taiwan Typhoon Flood Research Institute on another collaborative project. Visits to the National Science and Technology Centre for Disaster Reduction (NCDR) and the Hydrotech Research Instistute at National Taiwan University were also undertaken.
