Best Young Researcher Award at International Conference
Postgraduate student Jo-fai Chow has recently returned from the 9th International Conference on Urban Drainage Modelling in Belgrade where he picked up three prizes.
He obtained the Best Young Researcher award for his poster: “Developing a New Decision Support Framework for Sustainable Drainage Design”. The poster presented some initial outputs from his research project with University of Exeter and Micro Drainage (an XP Solutions company). He also won both second and third prizes in the conference’s photography competition.
Jo-fai is studying for an EngD degree through the STREAM research initiative.
STREAM is an Industrial Doctoral Centre (IDC) http://www.stream-idc.net/ for the Water Sector funded through the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) together with sponsorship from companies. It allows talented researchers to develop their skills and careers within an industrial environment through a four year postgraduate programme leading to the award of an EngD degree.
