Missing insulation on steam pipes has been addressed as part of a package of measures

Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital

We assisted the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust in their successful application for £1.1 million from the Department of Health's Carbon and Energy Efficiency Fund.   This has been followed up with on-site monitoring to evaluate the success of measures including:

  • Replacement of oil boilers in staff residences with energy efficient gas boilers, and controls upgrades
  • Replacement of older fluorescent lamps with LEDs
  • Installation of insulating valve jackets in plant rooms
  • Improvements to compressed air systems.

The monitoring has enabled savings to be precisely quantified in many cases, including a 60% reduction in lighting energy load in the laundry and a 27% reduction in compressor energy consumption.
