We assisted Oxford City Council in the development of a low emissions strategy

Oxford Low Emissions Strategy

In 2007 local authorities working on air quality established the Low Emissions Strategies Working Group. This group developed the concept of a Low Emissions Strategy (LES) that focused on air quality and CO2 emissions around new developments. Oxford City Council developed their LES with input from the Centre for Energy and the Environment and Sustainable Transport Solutions, including:

  • A review of national policy and previous experiences in implementing and Low Emissions Strategy
  • A detailed analysis of Oxford City Council's current policy on emissions
  • Workshops to discuss the vision for the council's vision for the LES

Our work culminated in the production of a draft LES for Oxford City Council to adopt.
