Conference Venue

The Conference will be held at the University of Exeter, situated on an attractive campus close to the city centre. Technical sessions will beheld in the Harrison Building. Social events will be in the ForumReed Hall and Pennsylvania Court (where also the accommodationis offered), all within a five minute walk. Exhibition area is available in the Harrison Building.The Streatham Campus itself has been voted one of the most beautiful in the country and has lakes, parkland, woodland and gardens in addition to views across to Exmouth and the Exe Estuary.

Exeter is the thriving capital city of the county of Devon in the southwest of England.The City of Exeter is the historic county town of Devon and is a modern, vibrant centre for culture, shopping and entertainment.  The City Centre is home to a beautiful gothic cathedral, modern shopping facilities in the newPrincesshay Centre and  the Royal Albert Museum, in addition to the usual shops bars and cafés.  Slightly further afield, Exeter has an historic quayside and pleasant countryside walks within a few minutes of the city centre.Apart from being a popular tourist destination, being close to the south coast and beautiful Dartmoor.Exeter is the administrative centre of the county, home of the Met Office, and of the airline company Flybe.There is easy access to Exeter by rail to Exeter St. David’s station, byroad via the M5 motorway, and by air via Exeter International Airport,which is only a 20 minute drive to the University by taxi or bus (bus service 56 (56A and 56B)).

The West Country has some of the best natural scenery in the country, most of which is easily accessed from Exeter (e.g. Dartmoor, Exmoor and the Jurassic Coast). Further afield Cornwall and the Eden Project are only 1hr 30mins away.
