Mr Ricardo Celestino
I am a Ph.D. student at the Camborne School of Mines (University of Exeter) supervised by Prof. Stephen Hesselbo (University of Exeter) Prof. Stuart Robinson (University of Oxford) and Dr. James Eldrett (Shell).
For this project, I am working on facies analysis, organic geochemistry, chemostratigraphy, and quantitative mineralogy of Early Jurassic mudrocks of NW Europe with focus on the Posidonienschiefer of NW Germany.
This project will add further information on the Lower Jurassic epicontinental basin system of the Neotethyan Sea and help to get a better understanding of the depositional system and the preservation of organic matter during one of the major oceanic anoxic events.
