Mr Laurens Tijsseling
At this moment I am enrolled at Camborne School of Mines as a MSc by Research student as part of the Cobalt: Geology, Geomicrobiology, Geometalurgy (CoG3) project. I am involved in the geometallurgy part, through a collaboration with the world’s largest cobalt producer. As part of this project, various characterisation methods are used, after which the characterisation data is linked to variation in eventual cobalt recovery of the same samples; thus following a geometallurgical approach.
The main processing factors that will be assessed are comminution and flotation behaviour, using bench scale laboratory tests. The empirical data gathered in the lab will be used as input for industrial scaled simulation, using different software packages.
If you have any questions about the CoG3 project or if you have ideas about applying geometallurgy in the industry, please do not hesitate to e-mail me!
