Miss Qiong Cao
I am a PhD student in Department of Computer Science in University of Exeter, working with Dr. Yiming Ying and Prof. Richard. My current research involves developing computer vision and machine learning algorithms to automate face recognition ‘in the wild’ where the face images/videos are taken under uncontrolled conditions and show large variations in pose, illumination and background etc. I completed my BSc in Mathematics, Hebei Normal University, China in July 2010. In Septermber 2010, I started my Master's study in the Department of Mathematics, Zhejiang University, UK. I did not complete my Master's degree because I was given the opportunity to study PhD in Computer Science in University of Exeter.
I am a reviewer for AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 2015 (AAAI-15).
- Machine Learning: metric learning, similarity learning and convex optimization.
- Computer Vision: face recognition and person re-identification.
- ECMM401 - Pattern Recognition: workshop supervision on Matlab (term 2012/2013, 2013/2014).
