High performance computing and networking

The High Performance Computing and Networking group investigate the computational and networking challenges associated with modern information and communications paradigms such as Internet, mobile, cloud and high performance computing. Current research areas include: Computer Networks, Next Generation Internet, Smart Networks and Communications, Cyber-Physical Systems, Wireless Communication Technologies, Multimedia Systems, High-Performance Computing, Cloud Computing, Big Data, Information Security, System Modelling and Performance Optimization

The members in the group have attracted significant funding from a diverse array of grant awarding bodies including the European Commission, UK EPSRC, the Royal Academy of Engineering, and industrial partners including Motorola, IBM, Huawei Technologies, INMARSAT, and InforSense Ltd. Their research work and results are published in the top international journals in the field of Computer Science, such as IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, IEEE Transactions on Computers, IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IEEE Network, IEEE Intelligent Systems,  IEEE Internet Computing, and ACM Transactions on Embedded Computing Systems.
